ALUMNI ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT

Many of you may remember our last Ashbury Homecoming for the barbeque or the athletics or the reunions. However, for me the experience had the added excitement of my election to the presidency of the Ashbury Alumni Association and the leadership of the Alumni Executive Committee (AEC). Former boarding student France Bourjouin ’94 has lived outside Canada for nearly all of her adult life. Travel and work experiences have shaped her life, and have led to exciting opportunities on a remarkable international journey.
During her undergraduate degree at McGill University (four years after graduating from Ashbury College), France decided to move to Johannesburg, South Africa for one semester. Her initial plan for six months of study there stretched happily into six years when she enrolled in a master’s program at University of the Witwatersrand. Read more...

DAVID SCOTT '54 was appointed to the Order of Canada in 2011 for his contributions to the legal profession and for his charitable activities. This is one of the highest honours that can be awarded to a Canadian citizen. Read more...
ALEXANDRA CHONG '99 is the founder of Luluvise, a private social network dedicated to young women and their best friends. In fall 2011, the company received visits from Prince Andrew, Duke of York and UK Prime Minister David Cameron as part of his Tech City tour around the "Silicone Roundabout". Read more...
JONATHAN '02 and BRYAN '98 ESTABROOKS performed at the Shenkman Arts Centre in October 2011 in a fundraising concert supporting the Kiwanis Music Festival. Performing solo and in duet in classical and lighter tunes, they were joined by pianist Jean Desmarais and a seven-piece professional band. Read more...
TYLER HAM PONG '06 won the Best Actor Award for his short film Sawaru at the 2011 72 Hour Shootout, presented by the Asian American Film Lab. The screening and ceremony was at the 34th Asian American International Film Festival on August 13th, 2011. Read more...
