A Message from the Headmaster
With traditions dating from 1891, Ashbury has built a solid reputation as a university preparatory school. Situated on a 13-acre, park-like campus in the heart of Canada’s capital, Ashbury College is enriched by the resources, bilingualism, and the diplomatic community of Ottawa. Our students represent over 30 countries and are attracted by the International Baccalaureate diploma, Ashbury’s bilingual diploma, and a global education that prepares them for positions of leadership and service to others.
The unique composition of Ashbury, with its coeducational Junior School and Senior School, day and boarding students, and Canadian and international students, results in a rewarding experience for students and staff. In addition to being challenged academically, Ashbury students enjoy nationally recognized sports, music, drama and debating programs. Our students also have the opportunity to participate in interest clubs, exchange programs, Round Square and sporting activities that reflect the diverse interests and talents of Ashbury’s staff. Ashbury is Ottawa's private school with a public purpose.
Personally, Ashbury has been the ideal school for my family. My wife Jan and I teach and coach, and our two children are Ashbury alumni. When we joined the students and other residential families on campus, we joined a community as well as a school. I invite you to visit the school to appreciate the “Ashbury Experience” for yourself. We assure you a warm, personal welcome.
